Why was the bus stop moved? Following a site inspection by the Metropolitan Police, London Buses and Brent Council the bus stop outside of Christ Church Court was closed and a temporary bus flag erected outside of Beechworth. It was believed that prompt action was necessary due to serious concerns about safety. The specific concerns with the original bus stop location were that it was: • located in between two fairly sharp bends which reduced visibility for bus drivers and other motorists • too close to Mapesbury Road which again caused visibility issues • too close to the vehicular access into and out of Christ Church Court • restricting visibility of the Pelican Crossing traffic signals for approaching motorists What has happened since the bus stop was moved temporarily? Following the relocation of the bus stop further investigations and discussions have taken place to look into all possible locations where the bus stop could be moved to on a permanent basis. These investigations have determined that the current temporary location is the only viable location for the bus stop (that is not too close to adjacent stops). It is therefore proposed to make the bus stop permanent in its current location outside of Beechworth. We would like to hear your views on this. The closing date for this consultation is 29th November 2010 Returns received after this date will not be accepted. How to respond to this consultation?
